Our 3rd Anniversary

We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary at La Vie en Rose. It was a delicious meal with even better company! I was so thrilled with how this anniversary turned out. Let me give you the back story...

The day after our wedding, we were getting ready to go to the airport for our honeymoon and I got sick. Since that didn't turn out as perfect as I had hoped, I put a lot of pressure on myself for our 1st anniversary. I wanted it to be perfect! But it wasn't. I worked myself up and was too nauseous to eat at Melting Pot, so we left. Then comes our 2nd anniversary. We went to Rockin' Baja (my favorite restaurant!) and I was better than the prior year, but I still was not myself. I actually ate something, but my trusty stomach wasn't super happy. This year, I asked God to keep me calm because there is no reason why I should be worked up and sick for just an anniversary! Well, He granted me that desire and I was so happy!!!

The big 2-8 is today!

Today is my 28th birthday. It is crazy to think how quickly the last 28 years have gone. No, let me rephrase that. How quickly the last 15 years have gone. My life has always centered around my pole accident (check out a post a while back about my teeth and hitting the pole). That happened when I was 13 and in 8th grade. High School went by so fast and the last 10 years have flown by! My 10 year reunion was this summer and I forgot where my life went! So much has happened in the last 15 years that has turned me into the person I am today and so much happened in my first 13 years to mold me into who I wanted to become.

Thanks to my parents who always supported me and raised me to be the type of person I am. Thanks to Casey for putting up with my junk for the last 4 years, and thanks to my friends for always being so supportive even in the craziest of times. For some reason, this birthday seems like a big milestone for me and I'm not quite sure why. 28 isn't a milestone birthday, but for me there is something about it. I feel older and more mature, but in a good way. I have been through so much that has made me so thankful for everything that has happened in my life.

So, cheers to 28 years of wonderful life and many more wonderful years to come! :)

LT loves to model for the camera!!

LT decided that he wanted to be a model today. He was so cute and comfy laying on the floor that I couldn't help but take some photos! I know that most of them are similar, but I had fun playing with the camera and couldn't pick my favorites!!

Apparently he thinks that he is a sphinx...

Dogs, Dogs, and More Dogs!

My cousin, Christy, got married this weekend out in Lytle Creek. A bunch of my relatives decided to camp out for the weekend since it was pretty far away. I couldn't resist taking photos of all of the dogs! There were so many of them!

My little brother, John, is graduating from Cal State Fullerton tomorrow and I made these yummy little treats for his party. Thanks to Bakerella for the fantastic idea!

What do you get when you mix these yummy things together?

Bwahahaha!!! Funny camera photo!

We put a little 0.45m/1.5ft lens on John's beautiful 1d Mark 2n camera body and it was so funny! The smallest lens on the biggest body!

Mmm...Seared AhiI

We ate this meal a few weeks ago, but we were at Costco and decided to be crazy and try to cook something new. We picked up some ahi and made seared ahi. It wasn't as good as it would have been if it had been cooked by a professional, but it was quite tasty for our first time!

Super Cute Owl and Bird Cupcakes!

If you know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE owls and birds! I know that I keep posting pictures and links from the most amazing blog EVER, Hostess With the Mostess, but honestly she is fantastic! How adorable are these cupcakes?!?!

I have already picked out nursery decor if we end up with a baby girl, and it is all owls and birds, so these cupcake totally 'tickle my fancy!'

EDITED: No, I am not pregnant. I wrote the baby girl comment and it sounded like I was pregnant!

My, what a large lens you have there!

I saw this guy walking around at the tennis match. His lens was GIANT! I had major camera-envy all day!

Note to Self: Don't wear turquoise sequined hats to tennis matches.

I saw this lovely fashion icon on Saturday at the tennis tournament in Palm Springs. I had the pleasure of viewing the fashionista while napping on a grassy knoll as well as during a match.

Ma'am, sequined hats are not a good choice anytime, but especially not during sunny tennis matches. They are distracting to the tennis players and spectators.

A great day in LA!

Lets start by saying that I am pretty much obsessed with RENT, the musical. I saw it 3 or 4 years ago and didn't really like it. I loved the music, but the musical didn't make sense to me. I watched the movie a couple years ago and I figured out the pieces I had missed the first time I saw the musical. So my obsession began. I listen to the CD over and over, watch the movie over and over, and have bought tickets to see it on stage the last 2 times it has come to town.
Casey let me buy tickets again because Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were reprising their roles and Roger and Mark! They were from the original Broadway cast and in the movie. Those two are so great in those roles! I saw Adam Pascal in Aida on Broadway like 8 years ago and have liked him ever since.
Long story short, we saw RENT again today and it was definitely the best production out of the 3 times I have seen it!

After the show ended, we went to Pink's. We had always wanted to try it, but had never gone! The line was wrapped around the building (as it always is), and we made bets about how long it would take to get to the front. Casey said 30 minutes and I said 40. Well, we were both wrong. It took an hour to get to the counter.
Our hot dogs were delicious and the chili cheese fries were grub-tastic! I am definitely hurting now!

Fabulous Centerpiece Ideas!

Thanks to my favorite blog, Hostess With The Mostess, I found these amazing centerpieces! What a great way to incorporate yummy veggies into your party theme! The flower 'holders' are adorable, but my favorite is the asparagus centerpiece. Next party theme...veggies!

Pug and Bulldog Beauty Contest

Last Sunday, I took LT to the Haute Dogs Pug and Bulldog Beauty Contest in Long Beach. There were about 50 pugs in the Pug contest and LT won! I was so surprised! We had a blast watching the French Bulldog contest and the English Bulldog contest. There were lots of pictures, so I made a video.
Check out the other photos of LT and other dogs on these websites...

HOLY CRAB!

What would you do if you found this thing in your house? They are called Coconut Crabs, but are sometimes referred to as Robber Crabs. They are rumored to steal shiny things like pots and pans from houses!

I would NOT want one of these scary things anywhere near my house! It is bigger than LT!

Grandma's 80th Birthday!

My grandma turned 80 today! When I think about all of the things that she has experienced in the last 80 years, I am shocked! Think back 80 years...that would be 1929.

The Great Depression, World War II, Racial Segregation ends, Woodstock, First Man on the Moon, Sweet 80s music and fashion, the creation of the Internet, 9/11, and that is just to name a few!

In 1929, the cost of a stamp was $0.02 and gas was $0.20 a gallon!

The last 2 years have been very difficult for my grandma. Shortly after my grandpa died, she got very sick. She ended up having triple bypass and we were shocked that she made it through that. She has been in and out of the hospital since then while having dialysis 3 times a week. Casey and I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her lately while she has been living with my parents. It has been great to spend this time with her...it is precious!

Check out the photo of my grandma when she was younger! I love it!
Yep...that's a Snuggie! My aunt and uncle gave her that! Hilarious!

Our 3D Night!

Casey picked up some 3D glasses tonight so we could watch the 3D episode of Chuck. We looked super sweet in our hot glasses! The glasses didn't stay on very long...our eyes were freaking out!

I'm bringing sexy back!

I had what I hope to be my last big surgery yesterday. He placed another implant. I am on lots of pain medication today and my jaw is throbbing, but hopefully I will be mostly done after this! I couldn't help but take a picture of my 'gap' when he took the fake teeth out!
