Grandma's 80th Birthday!

My grandma turned 80 today! When I think about all of the things that she has experienced in the last 80 years, I am shocked! Think back 80 years...that would be 1929.

The Great Depression, World War II, Racial Segregation ends, Woodstock, First Man on the Moon, Sweet 80s music and fashion, the creation of the Internet, 9/11, and that is just to name a few!

In 1929, the cost of a stamp was $0.02 and gas was $0.20 a gallon!

The last 2 years have been very difficult for my grandma. Shortly after my grandpa died, she got very sick. She ended up having triple bypass and we were shocked that she made it through that. She has been in and out of the hospital since then while having dialysis 3 times a week. Casey and I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her lately while she has been living with my parents. It has been great to spend this time with her...it is precious!

Check out the photo of my grandma when she was younger! I love it!
Yep...that's a Snuggie! My aunt and uncle gave her that! Hilarious!
